Since 1993, past presidents of the D.C. 酒吧 have hosted the 总统的接待 to honor the incoming president of the 酒吧 and to support the D.C. 无偿im体育苹果服务中心, the largest provider of pro bono legal help in the District of Columbia. With the support of our generous donors and dedicated attorney volunteers, we operate award-winning legal clinics, 项目, and resource centers that serve more than 20,000人, 非营利组织, and small businesses each year.
COVID-19 has changed the way the 公益性服务 Center delivers its services, but not its commitment to helping D.C. 居民需要. We remain hard at work through this health crisis by offering legal services through virtual clinics and resource centers, launching new legal assistance networks that ensure the courts remain accessible to people who cannot afford a lawyer, and giving 非营利组织 and small businesses the legal advice, 培训, and representation they need to survive the pandemic.
This year, the 总统的接待 honors incoming D.C. im体育苹果协会主席查德·T. Sarchio. For the safety of our donors and our staff, the 公益性服务 Center will present the 2021年总统接待 virtually.
Contributions and pledges of $500 or more received by May 28 will be acknowledged at the virtual reception, 在维.C. 酒吧 website, and in 华盛顿im体育苹果 magazine (distributed to more than 100,000 members of the 酒吧).
